Last night, Yohan suddenly approached me and handed me his Ate Thea's storybook. "Mama, read mo 'ko stories", he said. Since the book is a compilation of classic fairytales, we chosed Aladdin.
Honestly, I'm not able to read to them regularly, as most moms I know do for their little children. Hindi siguro ako nasanay. I know the importance of reading and its many benefits. I should include "read-to-me"session with Yohan and Thea more often. Well, Thea can already read on her own but it's never too late to enjoy reading together as a family bonding activity.
This made me think to buy more books than toys and engage my kids in reading than being glued on gadgets.
