A Beginner’s guide to Mountain Biking

Tuesday, August 13, 2019

Mountain biking is a great way to explore the outdoors, get some exercise, and see some amazing nature. If you are new to the sport, here are a few tips to get you started.

Plan your next ride

You may live near many trails or have to drive to access them. Here is a helpful guide to know which are right for you based on location and difficulty. Choosing a beginner’s trail is an excellent place to start. Find one with a flat trail system and picturesque views, so your first ride can be pleasant and gratifying.

Be Prepared

A good ride can sour without the right gear. Firstly, it’s always a good idea to carry bike repair tools and a first aid kit. Secondly, even on a crisp day in the mountains, the body can become dehydrated quickly. Drink water before and after your ride, and hydrate while on the trails. Know your route and bring a map in case your GPS doesn’t have a signal. Lastly, an electric mountain bike Alberta CA is good to have if the ride turns out being more difficult than expected. You may also opt for an electric mountain bike to be able to see the views that often require conquering more challenging terrain.

Enjoy the ride

Mountain biking can be an extreme sport if you choose, but it doesn’t have to be. Take your time to enjoy the views and wildlife you encounter, and have a nice meal with friends or family after your adventure.
An afternoon on the trails can be a refreshing experience with the right gear and planning. It is a great way to experience the outdoors solo or use the time to bond with loved ones. Bring the right tools and the right bike, and you will be on your way!
